virus free, firewall software I have had a very long stint of being virus free even while cruising the web for many hours each day. It is part of my job description so the threat of picking up some malicious software along the way is always on my mind. Reason being there have been a couple moments when the firewall software lowered it’s defenses and my hard drive came under attack. Being a kid born in the digital age most of everything I have is stored digitally. After a couple virus scares it is now all backed up on redundant drives not connected to the web but it took a stressful few days of trying to unlock a life’s worth of stuff after my computer was hijacked.

It is relatively easy to stay virus free with the right software. But the same can be said about seatbelts. Seatbelts greatly reduce injury in crash but there are those moments when each one of us didn’t wear one. This always seems to be when disaster strikes. The day my firewall software was off, I got hit with a big old virus that slowed my keystrokes down to a crawl. Talk about a cruel joke.
