Having a computer today without antivirus software installed is a huge risk! I should know...we went for an entire year without any. Silly people.

We had antivirus software installed in our computer, but our budget was a little tight when it came time for a renewal, so we opted not to renew. We had also heard that there were better antivirus software programs available online, so we thought we'd try something new. Well, a little over a year passed, and we still hadn't installed new software.

Then, we moved. We went from using dial-up networking services to DSL services as our internet provider changed. We were quite excited about having the faster and better connection service! No more getting booted off in the middle of an online project! The thrill! However, we still hadn't installed a new antivirus software program. We went for another six months, until our system started slowing down a bit. Knowing that we'd probably inherited some kind of bug in our system, we finally got our acts together and purchased a new antivirus software program, and we bought it online. It is so much easier than going out to the store, especially since you have to install it into your computer one way or another. I didn't want the hassle of the stores, so my husband and I sat down one afternoon, looked at the features, benefits, and ratings of a few different packages, and decided on one. Then, we downloaded it. It made a big difference in our computer's performance having it activated, and of course, it found some things that it had to take care of. I don't think we'll ever go without antivirus software again! Lesson learned.
