antivirus software

I’ve been using my husband’s computer today instead of my own and I’ve noticed that his antivirus software is in serious need of being updated.  I’d love to pick up the phone and call him at work to ask him how long he’s needed to update his antivirus software. He’s in a meeting and I don’t exactly consider this a life and death situation, although it could be for his computer if it gets a virus.  I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve explained to my dear husband the importance of antivirus software and keeping it up to date. When I happened to check to make sure his virus definitions were up to date it said that the antivirus software had expired and that I needed to purchase a new version.  I don’t even dare guess how long that he’s been using this computer with no real protection of the latest viruses that is out there. My thoughtful husband usually tells me once or so a week about the latest virus threats, yet he hasn’t thought about checking his own antivirus software.  I’m going to order some and do the update myself to surprise him before he ends up with a virus that cripples his computer.
